Kroger is one of the biggest grocery chains in the country, so a lot of people want to know what’s open when a holiday lands. Whether you’re planning a family dinner or you just ran out of milk on a holiday, a quick check of the hours can save you a wasted trip.
This page covers the rest of 2026, with notes on pharmacy hours, pickup and delivery, and how to confirm your own store.
Heads up: when I checked on October 6, 2026, Kroger hadn’t posted its Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s hours yet. Its holiday hours page still showed the Labor Day message. So for those holidays the table below shows what stores did last year, based on news reports, and it isn’t confirmed for 2026. I’ll update this page when Kroger puts its hours up.

Note: Fred Meyer, Smith’s, Ralphs, King Soopers and Kroger’s other banners can have different hours. For Christmas, news reports last year said most Kroger stores were closed on December 25. Always check the store locator for your own store.
Regular Kroger Store Hours
Lots of Kroger stores run roughly 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, but it really depends on the store. Some busy locations stay open later and a few are open around the clock. Pharmacy, fuel center and Kroger Money Services hours can be different, so look at the store page for each one.
Kroger Pharmacy Holiday Hours
Kroger pharmacies often have shorter hours or close on the big holidays. Here’s the usual pattern, going by news reports from last year, not a 2026 announcement from Kroger:
- Thanksgiving Day: Closed
- Christmas Eve: Often closes around 5 PM
- Christmas Day: Closed
- New Year’s Eve: May close early
- New Year’s Day: Limited hours or closed
If your medication runs out around a holiday, refill early so you aren’t stuck.
