Kroger ESS Employee Login – Access Your Work Schedule & More

Quick Answer: How to log into the Kroger ESS portal

Go to ess.kroger.com in any browser. Enter your Kroger Enterprise User ID (EUID), click Continue, then enter your password and click Sign In (or “I Agree and Login” depending on your division). The Kroger ESS portal uses the same Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials as every other Kroger employee system — MyInfo, MyTime, and the FEED app all share the same EUID and password. Once inside, you can access paystubs, W-2 forms, direct deposit settings, benefits, and your work schedule. If you’re locked out or your password has expired (resets required every 90 days), use the Forgot Password link or call the Kroger Help Desk at 1-800-952-8889.

The Kroger ESS (Employee Self-Service) portal has been the backbone of Kroger’s employee HR system for years. It’s where pay stubs are stored, where W-2s are downloaded every January, and where associates manage direct deposit, personal information, and benefits — all without needing to walk into an HR office or ask a manager to look something up.

If you’ve heard the portal called different names — ExpressHR, SecureWEB, Kroger Associate Connect, or simply “the HR portal” — those are all older names for the same system. Today everything runs through Kroger’s Single Sign-On, and ess.kroger.com and myinfo.kroger.com both route to the same dashboard with the same login. For the full overview of the MyInfo portal, see our Kroger MyInfo login guide.

What Is the Kroger ESS Portal?

ESS stands for Employee Self-Service. It’s the term Kroger uses to describe the category of HR tools that let associates manage their own employment information online — without needing to go through a store manager or HR coordinator for every task.

The ESS portal is specifically designed for pay, HR records, and personal data management. This is different from MyTime, which handles scheduling and time tracking. Think of it this way: if you want to know when you’re working next week, that’s MyTime. If you want to know how much you got paid last Friday or need to change your bank account for direct deposit, that’s ESS.

The ESS portal is available to all current Kroger associates across every banner — Ralphs, King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, Smith’s Food & Drug, Fry’s, Dillons, Pick ‘n Save, Mariano’s, and QFC all use the same ESS system at the same URL with the same credentials.

ESS vs. MyInfo vs. MyTime — What’s the Difference?

This is the question every Kroger employee asks at some point. Here’s the clear answer:

ESS (ess.kroger.com) and MyInfo (myinfo.kroger.com) are the same system accessed through two different URLs. Both route through Kroger’s SSO to the same employee dashboard. ESS is the older entry point; MyInfo is the current preferred URL. If one isn’t loading, try the other — they’re interchangeable. Use whichever you remember more easily.

MyTime (mytime.kroger.com) is a separate scheduling and time management system powered by UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group). It handles your shift schedule, time punches, time-off requests, and availability. You access MyTime through a link inside the ESS/MyInfo dashboard, and it uses the same SSO credentials — but it’s a different system underneath.

The FEED app (feed.kroger.com) is Kroger’s official mobile employee app. It gives you phone access to everything inside ESS/MyInfo, plus company news, employee deals, and training modules. Same EUID and password as everything else.

One important thing to remember: Your EUID and password work identically across all three. Change it once and it updates everywhere — they share the same Kroger SSO authentication.

What You Need Before Logging In

  • Your Kroger Enterprise User ID (EUID) — assigned at onboarding, typically your initials followed by numbers (e.g., jd12345). Not your badge number, not your email address.
  • Your Kroger SSO password — same across all portals. Expires every 90 days.
  • A modern browser — Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge work best. Safari and Firefox work but occasionally have issues with PDF downloads.
  • Stable internet connection — avoid public Wi-Fi when accessing payroll data. If you’re at the store, use the in-store computer for the most reliable access.

New employee? Your EUID account takes 3–7 days to activate after hiring. If your login isn’t working in your first week, this is normal. Ask your store manager to confirm your account was provisioned and wait a few days before calling the Help Desk.

How to Log Into ess.kroger.com — Step by Step

  1. Open your browser and go to ess.kroger.com
Type the URL directly into the address bar — do not search for it on Google. Multiple unofficial copycat sites rank for Kroger ESS keywords. The official site always ends in .kroger.com. Bookmark it once you’ve confirmed you’re on the correct page.
  2. Enter your EUID
Type your Enterprise User ID in the login field — lowercase, no spaces. Click Continue. If you see “account not found,” double-check the spelling — EUIDs are case-sensitive on some system configurations.
  3. Enter your password and sign in
Enter your SSO password on the next screen. Click I Agree and Login (some divisions show this as simply Sign In). If you see a terms and conditions screen, click through to proceed.
  4. Complete MFA if prompted
Some accounts require multi-factor authentication via a code sent to your registered work email or phone. Complete the verification when shown. If Microsoft Authenticator opens instead of the login page, see the troubleshooting section below.
  5. You’re in
Your ESS dashboard loads. Navigate to the section you need — Pay Stubs, Tax Forms, Benefits, Personal Info, or Direct Deposit. Bookmark the post-login dashboard page for faster future access.

What You Can Do Inside the Kroger ESS Portal

The ESS portal is focused on pay, HR records, and personal account management. Here’s everything available inside:

Pay Stubs and Earnings History

View and download pay stubs for any pay period going back approximately 2.5 years. Stubs are posted every Wednesday for the following Friday payday. You can view gross pay, net pay, hours worked, overtime, and all deductions for each period. Download as PDF for your own records — and do this regularly since Kroger only retains records for 2.5 years. For a full breakdown of every deduction on your Kroger pay stub, see our Kroger paystub guide.

W-2 and Tax Documents

Access your annual W-2 form, update your paperless delivery preference, and download prior-year tax documents. W-2s are available from mid-to-late January each year for employees enrolled in paperless delivery, and by January 31 at the latest. For the full W-2 access guide including MyTaxForm.com as a backup, see our Kroger W-2 guide for current employees.

Direct Deposit Setup and Management

Add, change, or split your direct deposit between multiple bank accounts. Enter your bank’s routing number and account number. Changes take 1–2 pay cycles to take effect. Even if you use direct deposit, your pay stub is still available in the portal every week.

Personal Information

Update your home address, phone number, and emergency contacts. Keeping your address current is critical — if your address is wrong in ESS, your mailed W-2 will go to the wrong place. Update it here before January each year.

Benefits Enrollment and Review

Check your current health insurance, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage. Open enrollment and qualifying life event changes are handled through the HR section, which since October 2025 has been consolidated into the FEED/MyInfo portal (replacing MyLifeAtKroger.com for active associates). For the full benefits overview, see our Kroger employee benefits guide.

401(k) and Retirement

Check your current 401(k) contribution rate and access your retirement account information. For a full walkthrough of Kroger’s retirement plan, employer match, and enrollment steps, see our Kroger 401(k) and benefits guide.

Work Schedule (via MyTime)

The ESS dashboard contains a link to MyTime — Kroger’s UKG-powered scheduling system. Clicking it opens your schedule, shift history, time-off requests, and PTO balance. The scheduling data lives in MyTime, not in ESS itself. For the complete scheduling guide, see our MyTime Kroger login and schedule guide.

How to Access Your Paystub Through the ESS Portal

  1. Log into ess.kroger.com with your EUID and password.
  2. On the dashboard, navigate to Payroll or Pay Stubs. Some roles see this as My Pay or Earnings.
  3. Select the pay period you want from the list. Pay stubs are listed by pay period end date.
  4. Click View to open the document, then Download or Print to save it.
  5. Save the PDF to your personal storage — Google Drive or iCloud work well. Do not rely on the portal having records available indefinitely.

Paystub not showing up? If it’s Monday or Tuesday, the stub for this week doesn’t exist yet — it posts on Wednesday. If it’s Wednesday and still missing, check whether your time punches were submitted correctly. A missing punch means payroll has incomplete data and no stub can be generated. Report it to your manager immediately.

For a complete guide covering how to read every deduction line on your paystub, DailyPay access, and records retention rules, see our complete Kroger paystub guide.

W-2 and Tax Forms in the ESS Portal

Your W-2 is available through the ESS portal under the Tax or W-2 and Tax Information section inside the My HR area. Select the tax year, click View or Download, and save the PDF.

Employees enrolled in paperless W-2 delivery typically get access in mid-to-late January — earlier than the mailed version. Enroll before early January each year to get early access. If you missed the deadline, your W-2 will still appear on the portal around January 31.

Backup method: If ESS is giving you trouble during tax season, go directly to mytaxform.com and enter Kroger employer code 10575. This is Kroger’s dedicated tax document platform run by Equifax — it pulls the same W-2 data as ESS and is often faster to access during peak tax season.

For the full step-by-step guide including both access methods, former employee access, and what to do if your W-2 has errors, see our Kroger W-2 guide for current employees. Former employee? See our former Kroger employee W-2 guide.

Setting Up Direct Deposit Through ESS

  1. Log into ess.kroger.com.
  2. Go to My Info → Pay → Direct Deposit (or look under Personal Information → Banking in some divisions).
  3. Enter your bank’s 9-digit routing number and your account number. Double-check both — errors cause payment delays that take 1–2 pay cycles to fix.
  4. Select Checking or Savings. You can split your deposit across multiple accounts by setting a fixed dollar amount for one account and the remainder to another.
  5. Click Save. Allow 1–2 pay cycles for the change to activate.

No bank account? Ask your store’s HR coordinator about the Kroger Pay Card — a prepaid debit card loaded with your wages each payday. It works anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted.

How to Reset Your Kroger ESS Password

Kroger passwords expire every 90 days. This is the single most common reason for ESS login failures — the password expired silently since your last visit. Before assuming anything else is wrong, try a password reset first.

Option 1 — Forgot Password link (from home)

  1. On the ess.kroger.com login page, click Password Help or Forgot Password.
  2. Enter your EUID and complete identity verification using your employee ID and date of birth.
  3. Create a new password following Kroger’s requirements: minimum 8 characters, at least one uppercase letter, one number, one special character. Cannot reuse the last 5 passwords.
  4. Open a fresh browser tab and log in with the new password.

Option 2 — IAM tool at a store computer (fastest at work)

The Identity Access Management (IAM) self-service tool is available on in-store computers. Ask your manager or bookkeeper to open it. Enter your EUID and follow the prompts. This is the fastest reset method if you’re physically at the store.

Option 3 — IT Help Desk

Call 1-800-952-8889 ext. 47. Have your employee ID and store number ready. They can unlock your account and trigger a password reset remotely. Available Monday–Friday 7am–midnight EST, Saturday–Sunday 7am–9:30pm EST.

Set a reminder: Add a calendar reminder for 80 days after every password change. Resetting proactively before expiry means you’re never locked out mid-shift or the morning you need your W-2.

Troubleshooting Kroger ESS Login Problems

❌ “Invalid credentials” — password is definitely correct

Kroger passwords expire every 90 days, often without a clear warning. Even if your password feels recent, try resetting it first using the Forgot Password link. This resolves the issue in the majority of cases. If reset fails, call 1-800-952-8889 ext. 47.

❌ Account locked after too many failed attempts

Kroger locks accounts after repeated failed login attempts. This cannot be self-resolved. Use the IAM tool on a store computer (fastest if you’re at work) or call the IT Help Desk at 1-800-952-8889 ext. 47. Once unlocked, reset your password immediately before trying to log in again.

❌ ess.kroger.com won’t load or shows a blank screen

  1. Check your internet connection — switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  2. Clear your browser cache: Chrome → Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files.
  3. Try a different browser — Chrome or Edge work best with Kroger’s SSO.
  4. Disable any VPN — Kroger’s servers may block VPN IP ranges.
  5. Check that your device’s date and time are set to automatic — incorrect time breaks SSO authentication.
  6. Try myinfo.kroger.com as an alternative entry point to the same system.

❌ Login redirects to Microsoft Authenticator instead of the password screen

This happens when Microsoft Authenticator is installed on your device and Kroger’s SSO routes through it unexpectedly. Quick fix: temporarily uninstall Authenticator, log in with your EUID and password normally, then reinstall Authenticator and configure your Kroger work account within it properly. If the issue persists, call 1-800-952-8889 ext. 47 to adjust your MFA settings.

❌ I don’t know my EUID

Check your new hire paperwork, onboarding emails from Kroger HR, or ask your store manager or bookkeeper — they can look it up in under a minute. As a last resort, call 1-800-952-8889 and verify your identity to get your EUID confirmed.

❌ ESS works on the store computer but not on my personal device

This is almost always a browser or cache issue. Try Chrome on your personal device, clear your cache, disable your VPN if active, and make sure your device’s date and time are set correctly. If Chrome still fails, try the FEED app on your phone as an alternative — it accesses the same ESS data through a different interface that bypasses browser issues entirely.

❌ I work at Ralphs / King Soopers / Fred Meyer — is my ESS portal different?

No. All Kroger-family banner stores use the same ESS portal at ess.kroger.com with the same EUID and password. When you log in, the system loads your division’s content based on your store assignment automatically.

Former Kroger Employees — ESS Portal Access After Leaving

When your Kroger employment ends, your EUID is deactivated and ESS portal access ends immediately. You cannot log in to retrieve records after your separation date. This is why downloading and saving your pay stubs before leaving is so important.

If you need pay records or tax documents after leaving Kroger, you have two options:

For W-2 forms: Go to mytaxform.com and enter Kroger employer code 10575. This platform retains W-2 records and is accessible without an active EUID. See our complete former Kroger employee W-2 guide.

For pay stubs: Visit any Kroger-family store’s Customer Service desk with valid government-issued ID. Request the specific pay periods you need. Records are available for approximately 2.5 years from the date each stub was issued. Some former employees also have success calling 1-800-576-4377 to request mailed copies.

Frequently Asked Questions — Kroger ESS Portal

Is ess.kroger.com the same as myinfo.kroger.com?

Yes — they are the same system accessed through two different URLs. Both route through Kroger’s Single Sign-On to the identical employee dashboard. ESS is the older entry point; MyInfo is the current standard. Your credentials work on both. If one URL isn’t loading, try the other. See our full MyInfo Kroger login guide for a complete portal overview.

What is the difference between ESS and MyTime?

ESS (ess.kroger.com) manages your payroll and HR data — pay stubs, W-2s, direct deposit, benefits, and personal information. MyTime (mytime.kroger.com) manages your scheduling and time tracking — your work schedule, shift swaps, time-off requests, and time punches. Both use the same EUID and password. You access MyTime through a link inside the ESS/MyInfo dashboard. See the MyTime Kroger guide for scheduling help.

What happened to Kroger ExpressHR and SecureWEB?

ExpressHR and SecureWEB are retired portal names. ExpressHR was Kroger’s original payroll self-service interface. SecureWEB was an early SSO gateway. Both have been replaced by the current Kroger SSO system, with ess.kroger.com and myinfo.kroger.com as the active entry points. If you have an old bookmark to ExpressHR or SecureWEB, delete it and use ess.kroger.com or myinfo.kroger.com instead.

Can I access the Kroger ESS portal from home?

Yes — ess.kroger.com is accessible from any device with an internet connection, 24 hours a day. You do not need to be on the store’s network. Access it from your personal computer, phone, or tablet exactly as you would on a store computer. Avoid using public Wi-Fi when accessing payroll data — use your mobile data connection instead.

How often does the Kroger ESS password expire?

Every 90 days. Kroger’s security policy requires an SSO password change on this cycle across all portals — ESS, MyInfo, MyTime, and the FEED app all use the same password, so a reset updates everything at once. Set a calendar reminder for 80 days after each reset to stay ahead of the expiry.

Is there a Kroger ESS mobile app?

There is no app specifically called “Kroger ESS.” The official Kroger employee mobile app is FEED Mobile, published by The Kroger Co. on the Apple App Store and Google Play. FEED gives you phone access to all ESS features including pay stubs, W-2s, direct deposit, and benefits. Same EUID and password. See our Kroger FEED app guide for download links and full walkthrough.

Why can’t I see my pay stub in the ESS portal?

Pay stubs post every Wednesday for the Friday payday. If it’s Monday or Tuesday, the current week’s stub doesn’t exist yet. If it’s Wednesday or later and the stub is still missing, check whether your time punches were submitted correctly for that pay period — a missing punch means payroll can’t generate a complete stub. Report it to your manager immediately. For further troubleshooting, see our Kroger paystub guide.

Do Ralphs, King Soopers and Fred Meyer employees use the same ESS portal?

Yes — all Kroger-family banners use ess.kroger.com with the same EUID and password. This includes Ralphs, King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, Smith’s Food & Drug, Fry’s, Dillons, Pick ‘n Save, Mariano’s, and QFC. The portal loads your division’s specific content automatically after login based on your store assignment.
