Kroger Employee Discounts and Benefits (2026)

Reviewed by the KrogerFan editorial team · How we fact check

People search for Kroger employee discounts all the time, and a lot of what’s online is copied from site to site. So here’s what we could actually confirm, and what we couldn’t. Kroger keeps most of the details on associate only sites, which means the exact percentages aren’t posted anywhere public.

Important: Kroger employees and their family members cannot take part in the KrogerFeedback survey to earn bonus fuel points. The rules are in the KrogerFeedback eligibility guide.

What Kroger says about associate discounts

In a 2024 press release, Kroger lists grocery discounts among its associate perks, along with discounts on electronics, streaming services and travel. That’s the extent of what Kroger says publicly.

What real employees say: an answer on Indeed’s Kroger Q&A, posted anonymously in September 2021, reports 10% off Kroger brands (that includes Simple Truth and Private Selection) and 15% off home products. That’s one person’s report from a few years ago, and Kroger hasn’t confirmed it. Treat it as a rough guide, and check what you actually get at your own store.

Other sites list higher or lower numbers. Since we couldn’t match those to a Kroger page, we’re leaving them out. What you get can depend on your banner and your job.

Who is eligible?

Kroger doesn’t publish a public list of who qualifies, so we won’t guess. A few things worth asking your store leader or HR:

  • Do part time and seasonal associates get the same discounts?
  • Can family members use any of them, and how?
  • Do retirees keep any?

Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Smith’s and Kroger’s other banners may handle things differently, so ask at your own store.

Other benefits Kroger mentions

Money and well-being

The same press release says Kroger offers:

  • Free financial counseling through Goldman Sachs Ayco.
  • 24/7 well-being support, including virtual counseling.
  • Healthcare and retirement packages. Our 401(k) and benefits page goes further.

These were announced in April 2024, so ask HR what applies to you today.

Tuition help: Feed Your Future

This one is well documented. Kroger’s Feed Your Future program pays up to $3,500 a year, and $21,000 over the length of your employment, toward continuing education. Kroger says it covers everything from GED courses to Ph.D. programs, for both part time and full time associates. When it was announced in 2018, eligibility began after six months on the job. See Kroger’s own words in the 2018 announcement and the 2024 release.

Rules can change and approval depends on the program you pick, so confirm the details with HR before you enroll.

How to get your discounts set up

  1. Ask your store leader or HR how discounts are turned on for your banner.
  2. Check whether your Kroger Plus card has to be linked to your associate profile, and who does that.
  3. Use your associate login for the associate perks site your division points you to.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do Kroger employees get grocery discounts?

Kroger lists grocery discounts among its associate perks, but doesn’t post the amounts. One employee on Indeed reported 10% off Kroger brands and 15% off home products (2021). Check what applies to you with your store leader or HR.

Can family members use the discounts?

Kroger doesn’t say publicly. Ask HR whether any discounts extend to family and how that works.

Do I need to link my Kroger Plus card?

Possibly. Ask your store leader or HR how discounts get turned on for your banner and who sets it up.

Is tuition reimbursement real?

Yes. Feed Your Future pays up to $3,500 a year and $21,000 over your career, for part time and full time associates, per Kroger’s own announcements. Approval depends on the program, so confirm with HR first.

Can Kroger employees take the KrogerFeedback survey?

No. Kroger employees and their family members can’t take part in it to earn bonus fuel points.

Final thoughts

Kroger’s tuition program is the clearest benefit with real numbers behind it. For the discounts, ask your own store, since the percentages vary and Kroger doesn’t publish them. We’ll update this page as soon as Kroger shares more.
